From 1991 to 1996, Mike Aymer, known as Mike De Underground, co-owned De Underground Records in Forest Gate. His co-owners were his brother Cool Hand Flex, Uncle 22 and DJ Randall. The business operated as both a record shop and a studio during those years, becoming a key independent presence in the development of the UK hardcore, jungle and drum and bass scene.
In 2025, Mike De Underground contributed insights on jungle’s roots to the compilation Junglist! Old Skool Ragga, D&B, Jungle 1993–95.
