Cherch presents: The Upbeats (Johannesburg)

After 13 years away, The Upbeats bring their decades-deep drum & bass story back to South Africa.

The Upbeats headline at Sognage in Johannesburg, South Africa, on 5 December 2026. The event starts at 18:00, and entry is 18+.

This is their first South African appearance in 13 years, making the return the story before a single tune drops. More than two decades into a career that has made a deep mark on drum & bass, The Upbeats arrive with a catalogue that has travelled well beyond the scene’s borders. For Johannesburg heads, it’s a rare chance to catch them in the room again.

The focus stays squarely on The Upbeats: a chance to hear one of the genre’s long-running acts bring their sound back to South Africa.
