A third Heavy Congress dance puts Iration Steppas in the mix with Melbourne’s sound-system crews.

Iration Steppas bring their sound-system weight to Heavy Congress, back for its third dance at Collingwood Town Hall in Melbourne on 1 November. The ticketed, 18+ event runs from 1pm, with a day-to-night stretch built around dub and the sound-system tradition.

Melbourne crews El Gran Mono, General Feeling, Heartical Hi Powa and System Unknown join Tasmania’s South Weight Sound System. Each crew brings its own approach to the selectors’ craft, setting the scene for a session where bass does the talking and the crowd gets a say. Iration Steppas take the special-guest spot, anchoring a gathering shaped by the systems and communities behind the music.

Expect deep dub pressure, patient selections and room for the rhythms to breathe. Heavy Congress keeps the focus on sound, crew and shared dancefloor energy.
