Their newest chapter is a Friday night series built around serious DJ talent, spanning the full spectrum of house and techno. From local Bay Area selectors to international artists, every week brings a different sound, a different story, and a dancefloor worth showing up for.
8/28 - Born in LA, Spiced in India & Recycled by Berkeley...MNTRA has built a genre-bending sound of his own - a funky, avant-garde take on house that circles through tech house with flashes of swing and breaks. Playful, off-kilter harmonies collide with basslines that hit hard and always fresh.
His background is anything but typical: formal production training at Icon Collective paired with classical percussion training in East Asia, giving his sets a distinct understanding of rhythm.
His sets have become the stuff of legend - unreleased anthems, raw emotional depth, and a sound that has earned him a reputation as one of the West Coast underground's most beloved figures and a genuine pioneer of a sound all his own - an artist whose community shows up for him as much as the music.
His tracks have been living in our resident DJ Tamer's (@tamer_1oc) sets for a long time now, and as he continues to play bigger stages and festivals all over the world, having him at Napa Music Hall for Salty Residency is a full-circle moment and a true honor for our Salty family!
