PITERSKIJ DRUM

6/06 – LEGENDARY D'N'B DJ ZEMINE IN BUDVA

DJ Zemine is a representative of the first Drum and Bass wave of the wild 90s and one of the key figures of the St. Petersburg scene.

Her story began in the punk and art environment: Zemine was the voice and guitar of the punk band «La-5 in the Air!», worked with underground fashion, posters, club performances, and visual space design. Her collection «Audacity and Bad Taste» was exhibited at the Griboyedov club and at the legendary «Jungle VS Techno» party at Lennauchfilm in the summer of 1998.

Around that same time, in 1998, Zemine stepped behind the turntables: everything changed the moment she first mixed two Drum and Bass records. Punk energy transformed into the energy of fractured rhythms.

From 1999 to 2012, she was co-owner, designer, and creative director of the Respect Records label and the Respect Family promotional group. She organized the legendary Sunday parties «Listen Up!» at Griboyedov club and the «All-Russian Drum & Bass Convention» festival. Later came WOW Signal Records, SA1NT Drum & Bass bar, and D&B Camp Out.

Zemine is the author of countless live and podcast mixes that offer a clear view of an entire era of Drum and Bass music development. These days, Zemine continues her active presence: mixes such as Liquid Wishes 2025, Shashliquid, and Skanmi Podcast 2026 regularly delight her listeners.

DJ Zemine will perform at Lemondadeº on Saturday, June 6. Local support from Valentisha and INBTWIN.
