Producers Loxy and Ink established Cylon Recordings in 2000, with drum and bass at the center of its music policy. Atmospheric and jungle releases also feature in its output. Clarity, Overlook and Homemade Weapons are among the artists whose music has appeared on the label. Its first numbered release was End Of Days / Eclipse, issued in November 2000, and later releases appeared in the CYLONUK and XA series.
The XA series included Voices / Dreams in 2005 and Broken Fingers / Volcon in 2008; Vital Signs / Tricky Tripod followed in 2009. After a quieter period, Cylon Recordings announced its first full-length compilation, Illustrations, in 2015, with tracks by Clarity among its selections. Loxy linked the label’s time away to changes in distribution companies. In 2020, the label released Straight 1's, a single by Loxy and Resound.
