Elektroshok Records began in Cádiz, Spain, in 2009 as an independent label for breakbeat and bass music. It was set up by three friends, José Carlos among them, who shared an interest in electronic music and saw room for a label in Andalusia. Its drum and bass output includes neurofunk and liquid styles, and it has also released techno, though breakbeat remains the main strand of its output.
The label issued Maniatics’ single “Bushido” in 2013 and Dub Elements’ “It´s My Fault” in 2025, and both acts are among its artists. Elektroshok holds events and showcases to promote its artists and build connections with fans. Its sub-label Rough Division Records handled electro and other bass music, mostly glitch hop, until Elektroshok paused it in 2022 to concentrate on the main label.
