Funk Star Records began in Belgium in 2008, founded by Eros of Influenza Media as a digital imprint for the funkier side of drum and bass, with liquid funk as its focus. On October 10, 2009, Eros transferred leadership to producer Paul Saint Jack. Early releases included Intelligent Manners’ “Going Down” and Command Strange’s “I Tell You Yes / She Don’t Understand,” while plans also named Undersound. Paul SG, Nusense, Blue Motion, Stunna and Schematic also released music on the label. Intelligent Manners’ “Going Down / The Groove” was released in 2008, and Paul SG’s “Running Away/In Between” followed in 2010.
