DJ Trace and DJ Dylan began Ganja-Tek Recordings in 1996. The label focuses on darker, more experimental drum and bass, alongside jump up and jungle, and is managed under the Real Playaz banner.
Ed Rush, Optical and Bad Company have all released music on Ganja-Tek, as have The Upbeats, InsideInfo and G Dub. Prolix is a regular: his single Exhile / Choke Hold came out on the label in 2006, and four years later he returned with Eruption / Chainsaw / Noisy Neighbour.
