In The Lab Recordings

In The Lab Recordings was established in 2021 by DJ-producers Spectra T and Kendot, and is based in Northampton. The independent label releases drum and bass spanning liquid and neurofunk, alongside jump-up. It grew out of a party series in Brackley, while its founders had organised drum and bass nights around Northampton, Oxford and Luton from 2019. During lockdown, they turned to guest mixes before developing the project into a record label.

Czech artist Junger supplied the label’s first release in 2021; [BORDERS] followed with the single In A Dream in 2022. The label runs events and showcases in different cities. In 2022 it received a Drum&BassArena Awards nomination for Best Newcomer Label, then placed second in the category in 2023. In 2024 it was a resident for Worried About Henry and joined the Hospital Records Business Mentorship programme, as well as receiving another Best Newcomer Label nomination. Its 2026 releases include Aphel (Tom Finster Remix) by Melanie Ring and Tom Finster.
