This Never Happened is an independent record label founded in 2016 by electronic producer Daniel Goldstein, known as Lane 8. Based in Denver, Colorado, it is run by Goldstein, who also created and curates an event series bearing the label’s name. The label developed from his own earlier releases into a roster featuring other electronic artists. Its music ranges across melodic electronic styles, including melodic house, and its work includes artist development, albums, solo EPs and individual tracks.
Lane 8 issued his 2018 album Little by Little through the label. Its first Root to Branch compilation appeared in 2017 and featured three artists; the series sits alongside the label’s solo EP releases. The label’s first release was Lane 8’s “Fingerprint” (TNH001), published on June 27, 2016. Other artists with releases on This Never Happened include Nuage, Grafix and Keeno. BAILE and Nuage released “Memory Pattern” through the label in 2020, and Nuage’s “Go Back Dreaming / In The Cold” followed in 2023.
