Valve Recordings was formed in 1997 by Dillinja and Lemon D, releasing drum and bass alongside jungle and techstep. Krust and Clipz are among the artists associated with the label, which has issued work from Spectrasoul, Artificial Intelligence and Need For Mirrors. Its debut paired Dillinja’s “Violent Killa” with Lemon D’s “12.01.” The name draws on old Shaka pre-amps used in reggae sound systems.
The label put out Dillinja and Lemon D’s album Big Bad Bass, Vol. 1 in 2002. Break and Dillinja collaborated on the 2020 single Hard Noize (Break Remix) / Tubes. Valve Recordings’ sound system made its debut at Fabric nightclub in London in May 2001, before travelling around the UK and internationally.
