Agora

Agora is a Los Angeles record shop and event space founded by artists and DJs associated with the MELT collective, including Eduardo Joo and Jared Friedrich. It opened on August 23, 2024, at 1022 South Santa Fe Avenue in the Arts District, where it also operates a marketplace. Its record selection ranges from house and minimal to downtempo, breaks and electro. Arda Audio, a Dutch company, built the shop’s sound system, and Paul Nicholson designed its branding. Agora has held events at the shop, with performers including JaeS and Makoto.

For its first anniversary in August 2025, the upstairs mezzanine featured a listening lounge and the downstairs warehouse had a sound system. In September 2025, Agora and MELT co-promoted an anniversary event featuring Kenny Larkin and Kana Hishiya, with techno and IDM on the programme.
