Avant Gardner

Avant Gardner is an event complex in East Williamsburg, Brooklyn, operating across venues in New York City. Established in 2017, it includes the Brooklyn Mirage, The Great Hall and Kings Hall. The Brooklyn Mirage began as a Cityfox pop-up in 2015 and became a permanent venue two years later. Cityfox co-founder Jürgen “Billy” Bildstein was Avant Gardner’s founder and owner.

The Brooklyn Mirage is an outdoor summer venue, while The Great Hall and Kings Hall operate indoors year-round. The complex has also run events at The Meadows and The Brooklyn Monarch. Its bookings have included Chase & Status, Andy C, Skepsis and MPH. Named events hosted at the complex include Cityfox Experience and elrow; Cityfox promoted the Brooklyn Mirage’s 2017 reopening.

Avant Gardner acquired the annual Electric Zoo festival, held on Randall’s Island, in 2022. That year, the complex also underwent a major refurbishment that included a high-resolution video wall. It filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on August 4, 2025.
