Basing House

Basing House opened in 2010 on Kingsland Road in Shoreditch, East London, as a dance-music venue. Its room accommodates 300 people, with exposed brickwork and sound provided by a Funktion-One system distributed across four points. The venue underwent refurbishment in 2011, when it also received the Best London Club Award.

External promoters and labels curate the programme, arranging weekend events that bring DJs, brands and record labels to Basing House. Its musical focus is underground, with house, disco, garage and drum and bass represented across the programme. Craig Richards, DJ Hype, Flying Lotus and Sasha are among the artists who have played there. Bushwacka and Richie Fingers created The Roots, a monthly house night held at Basing House.
