Big Fat Rave

Big Fat Rave is a Newcastle-based event promoter operating in Newcastle and elsewhere in the UK. Founded by Jack Cooper and Kurtis Parkin, it began with a first event at World Headquarters in 2021, growing from a makeshift sound system and a sign advertising a rave. Its beginnings involved friends and creatives based in Leeds and Newcastle, with an interest in early-1990s rave culture.

In Newcastle, its venues have included World Headquarters and NX Newcastle; it has also held events in Leeds and elsewhere, including Electric Bristol in Bristol and Electric Studios in Sheffield. Its bookings range from drum and bass and jungle to garage and hardcore. Artists featured at its events include Andy C, Dillinja, Grafix and A.M.C. Raze, Coalescence and Green Machine have supplied sound systems for events. The promoter’s named event, Big Fat BBQ Party, took place at The Grove in Newcastle in 2025, with Coalescence Sound System across the venue’s areas.
