Big Fish Little Fish

Big Fish Little Fish is a London promoter of family raves, combining club music and dancing with activities for children. Founder Hannah Saunders began the project in 2013 after becoming a mother, drawing on her interest in clubbing to create events for adults and children to enjoy together. The first gathering took place that year at Brixton’s Effra Social. The independent crew later grew beyond London through local family teams in the UK, Ireland and Australia, without using a franchise model.

Events pair DJ performances with creative workshops, themed crafts and spaces for play, rest and babies. Their programming also features club classics and sensory effects; more than 250 DJs have performed at the events. Basement Jaxx and Tom Middleton have appeared, as have Aphrodite and Alex Paterson. London locations have included fabric, the National Gallery, the V&A Museum, the Horniman Museum, The Pioneer Club and Fire. The promoter has staged events at The Buttermarket in the Midlands and at Glastonbury Festival.

In 2019, Big Fish Little Fish partnered with the Horniman Museum & Gardens for an outdoor family festival with space for 2,500 people. The festival was shortlisted for a 2020 Fantastic for Families Award. Big Fish Little Fish runs a monthly radio show.
