BOTANICA SOUND

Edinburgh is the base for BOTANICA SOUND, whose events have taken place at The Mash House, Home Bar and The Bongo Club. Its Bass Garden programme has covered styles including dub, jungle, drum and bass and garage, using the promoter’s own sound system. Artists appearing at its events include Scuffed, Phinnegan, Electrikal Sound and MC Mganga. BOTANICA SOUND supplied its system for The Bongo Club’s reopening party in August 2025.

BOTANICA SOUND’s MANTRA series brings together soundsystem music such as dub, bass and drum and bass, alongside the promoter’s lighting equipment and decor. At The Bongo Club on Cowgate, it has presented An Dannsa Dub and Uplands Roast, with sets spanning dub, steppas and dubstep. Other styles at BOTANICA SOUND events include bassline, UKG and 140, and its Bass Garden events have also featured steppas.
