Bristol NormCore works from Milan, Italy, and began in Bristol in 2018. Checco and Mariano founded the project; they perform under the names Rose Again and Odd Shy Guy. Its activities encompass an independent record label, an event series and an open platform, with the label issuing music by its founders and their circle of friends. Mega Basic is the name of its club format. Since its start, the project has operated across Bristol, Turin, Naples and Milan.
In Milan, its programming has drawn on dub, drum and bass, techno and electronic music, while linking club settings with sound-system culture. Bristol NormCore has presented events at NAMA - Nuovo Anfiteatro Martesana. Artists appearing on its bills have included Nicodemo, Odd Shy Guy, Volantis and Anastasia Kristensen. It has also worked with LOBO, a Milan bass-music promoter, on events at Leoncavallo, and partnered with Sonic Yolk for a three-room event at Altrove.
