Chez Kito Kat Records

Chez Kito Kat Records is a Franco-Canadian label established in Montreal in October 2006 by Samuel Ricciuti, Salima Bouaraour and Christophe Biache. It started out arranging concerts and later expanded into music production. Its name combines Kito, the founders’ cat, with a reference to musicians who stayed in their home after shows.

Its events now number more than 200 across France, Luxembourg, the US and Canada, including nights at Le Red Room in Montreal. Its Montreal series include AnaLove My LoG, featuring live electronic music played on synthesizers, modular gear and drum machines, and Tempio Nero, centred on darker techno and bass. Tempio Nero celebrated its second anniversary in August 2024. The label has worked with more than 60 artists internationally, publishing debut albums from emerging musicians as well as releases by established artists.

Its sound ranges from experimental electronic music and ambient to techno, house, IDM, rock and breakbeat. The label has issued 95 records on vinyl, CD, cassette and digitally, as well as CD-R and DVD formats. It made all its CD packaging by hand and released vinyl and cassettes in limited editions. For the 2024 Four Seasons compilation series, releases were organised around themes spanning techno, electro and bass, groovy and downtempo, and noise, ambient and IDM.
