Concrete Music

Concrete Music is a United Kingdom promoter that brings electronic artists to Portsmouth, with events also held in Southampton and London. Friends founded the company in 2010, starting with a weekly Tuesday night at the Kraken Wakes pub, later renamed The Registry. After losing that venue and Skye Bar, the promoter moved its Thursday events to Portsmouth’s Astoria nightclub in 2015. Other venues have included Yard & Warehouse at Pitt St. Skatepark, Sobar, The Ton of Brix and The Guildhall Portsmouth. Its events cater to students and non-students, and Mixmag selected Concrete Music among Britain’s top student nights.

The music policy includes drum and bass, house, garage and techno. The flagship Concrete Thursdays, formerly Concrete Tuesdays, has featured Disclosure, Sherelle, Mike Skinner and Skream. Its Castle Knights parties at Southsea Castle run from daytime into the night. Concrete Music has also hosted stages at festivals including Mutiny, South Central and Snowbombing.
