Contrary Motion

Contrary Motion is a drum and bass event series from Leicester, built around balanced, diverse line-ups and an inclusive crowd. Its parties have taken place at The Tree, The International and 440, where one event split the music between a warehouse stage on a Funktion-One system and a courtyard stage.

In November 2025 it teamed up with Urban Heightz for a drum and bass and jungle night at 440 headlined by BCee. Charli Brix, Frenetic, Malaky, Outrage, MC Maveric, Bigchoc and Bluck are among the artists who have played its events, and it shares live recordings on SoundCloud.
