control

control operates as both a Bucharest club and an event promoter, presenting live performances alongside DJ events. The venue was opened in 2008 by two co-owners, one of them Florin Oslobanu. It occupies an old ballroom below a bistro at Strada Constantin Mille 4. Two spaces, the Berlin Room and Front Room, host local and international DJs and live acts. Its music spans punk, goth, techno, dark disco, indie, alternative, house and funk.

Event line-ups at control have featured Dragos Rusu, FAUST, Breakage and SP:MC. Leo has held a residency there since 2008 and hosts Ground Control, a night drawing on Britpop, indie rock and new wave. Black Rhino Residency is a recurring bass music and sound-system culture series. Its fourth-anniversary event in May 2025 paired dub and bass in one room with hip-hop in another.
