CrossPoint

CrossPoint is a Latvian event promoter launched in Daugavpils by Mihails Nikitins to develop the city’s electronic-music scene and bring local young people together. After returning from London, he also aimed to connect Russian- and Latvian-speaking audiences. Its programming has ranged from house and techno to breaks and drum and bass, with events at Daugavpils Fortress, Fort Club and Versus Club. A festival at the fortress in 2016 drew about 600 attendees, with three areas, including an outdoor chill-out space, and 23 performers from the city and guests from Riga and Moscow; Nikitins helped organize the event. CrossPoint held another electronic-music festival at the fortress in 2018.

At Fort Club in December 2019, CrossPoint presented techno and breaks alongside drum and bass, with local performers and guests from Riga, Vilnius and Kaliningrad. Its 2024 Breakout events in Daugavpils included breakbeat and drum-and-bass programmes, including an edition devoted entirely to drum and bass at Versus Club. The promoter also staged a drum-and-bass party there in August 2024, and event line-ups have featured Esmuu and Under This. CrossPoint launched a record label to support Latvian bass music; its debut single, “Rinse Out,” was by it is Jev and Lomay.
