D-Edge Rio

D-Edge Rio promotes events at a cultural venue on Avenida Rodrigues Alves in Rio de Janeiro’s Saúde neighborhood. The Centro Cultural D-Edge Rio project was conceived by artist and entrepreneur Renato Ratier and occupies a historic building in Porto Maravilha, with an ornate facade and 2,500 square metres of built area. More than 2,000 metres of LED strips feature in the complex, which brings together music, art, education, fashion and design.

The complex includes D-Edge, Galeria Cosmos, a Ratier Store, a terrace and a lounge that doubles as a second dance floor. The club has two floors, with the upper one intended for varied genres and local artists; Leo Janeiro curates the lounge’s programming beyond electronic music. Muti Randolph designed the first dance floor, and the sound system combines speakers by Italy’s B&C Speakers with a design by KW Audio Brasil. Event line-ups have included DJ Marky, FABZ and Marcelinho da Lua, with programming spanning drum and bass, house and progressive house.
