Dark Machine Records is a bass-music label and event promoter based in Perth, Australia, with events across Australia and New Zealand. Perth producer ShockOne (Karl Thomas) established it in 2020. Its debut release was “Turning Back” by New Zealand duo Lee Mvtthews, and Central Station Records handled distribution and label services. The label’s music spans drum and bass and other bass music from Australia, New Zealand and the wider Australasian scene. Signed artists include Elliot Sloan, Ekko & Sidetrack and Quinn Karter.
Events have taken place at Ice Cream Factory in Perth, The Brightside in Brisbane, The Third Day in Melbourne and Darby Street Station in Auckland. In 2020, Dark Machine Records presented Dark Machine Warehouse at Centenary Warehouse in Perth, with a capacity of 3,000; the event expanded into an Australia and New Zealand tour in 2022. The promoter ran a five-date Western Australia tour, Dark Machine Records’ Roadtrip, in 2023. Its 2025 End of Days event at Ice Cream Factory featured ShockOne and REAPER.
