Druckerei Solothurn operates in Solothurn’s former Vogt-Schild printing plant. Samuel Jaggi and Daniel Wagmann started the club project in summer 2023, and planning approval followed from the town’s building authority in June 2024. Ricco Stocker and Yanik Blanco were also members of the project team. OHM Events GmbH owns the club; Jaggi, Wagmann, Stocker and Blanco cover management, programming, technical work and finance.
The venue’s two rooms and foyer are within a section of the building that has occupied the location since the 1940s. The larger room, Rollenlager, holds more than 300 people and has square concrete pillars. Its Seeburg system uses four-point sound and a custom bass array, delivering over 60,000 watts through twelve 21-inch speakers. Presswerk, the smaller room, accommodates 150 people and has a vintage JBL Soundpower four-point system with 20,000 watts of peak power.
Newspapers and magazines once left the building by rail wagon via the foyer, which had served as a loading ramp. It now accommodates receptions, communal meals and small seminars. The club presents electronic music, including techno, trance, house and disco, and event line-ups have featured Hypatia, Maddy V, Rosa Pagano and FJUSHA. TRÆUM is its techno label, and the programme also includes themed parties. During the First World War, the building was used to store sugar; it later housed a garage and petrol station before becoming a printing and media house in 1987. Newspaper printing moved elsewhere in 2006.
