Feed the Dragon

Feed the Dragon is a Hong Kong promoter focused on underground UK sounds with a bass emphasis. The collective began in the city in 2022, founded by Mengzy, DJ Fu, Hocknell and Justin Lim. Its programme has ranged from club nights to rooftop gatherings and raves, with events in Hong Kong and elsewhere in Asia, Europe and the UK. Events have reached Beijing and Shanghai, as well as Seoul and Taipei, with further stops in Hanoi, Amsterdam and Manchester. In Hong Kong, it has used Social Room and Frank’s Records; events have also taken place at Ivans Pilsnerbar in Gothenburg.

The music covers UK garage, breaks, 140, dubstep, jungle and drum and bass, moving from slower tempos towards faster ones. Mengzy, Immuno, 1908 and Justin Lim are among the artists who have appeared on event line-ups. Feed the Dragon’s first international collaboration was with Seoul-based bass crew Planet Turbo. The collective has also hosted radio shows and streams, and runs DJ and production workshops for aspiring artists. It grew from the pandemic-era period in Hong Kong, when lockdowns and closed borders coincided with new participation in the local bass scene.

Feed the Dragon partnered with Outlook Origins as its official Hong Kong representative for a second year in a row, celebrating the partnership at a launch party with Killa P as guest MC. The collective opened a record label in March 2025, drawing inspiration from producers in Hong Kong and nearby areas. Its first release was “Headtop”, by Hong Kong-based MMEE’s featuring Killa P; the track reached top positions on Beatport charts in its first week. In January 2025, a label-launch party at SLAP 拍 featured 19 DJs across two rooms and premiered the debut single and its music video.
