FORGE

FORGE promotes club events in Sheffield and operates its venue at 148 Effingham Road. Local people opened it as an independent venue in 2022, adapting a Victorian-era steelworks after production stopped in 2018. The programme covers techno, house, jungle and drum and bass, as well as live music.

Events take place in a warehouse, the outdoor Courtyard and the Workroom, a smaller room used for emerging Sheffield performers. FORGE has worked with Big Fat Rave and Percolate, and Machine Soul adopted the 130-capacity Workroom as its Sheffield base in 2023. Performers at FORGE events have included LTJ Bukem, Bakey, 4am Kru and Charla Green. In December 2024, the venue hosted Channel One Sound System’s Sheffield stop on its 45th Anniversary Tour. Its Pioneer Audio rig pairs XY-series cabinets with subwoofers, serving bass-focused club music and live bands.
