Gare Porto

Gare Porto is based in Porto, Portugal, and has held events at its venue on Rua da Madeira 182. The club began operating on April 17, 2008, in a former warehouse close to São Bento station. Its founders included Freshkitos, a DJ duo formed by Gustavo Pereira and Amulador, and a third partner. Before establishing the club, Freshkitos had worked at Indústria for five years.

At its opening, Gare had two principal rooms and room for around 400 people. The main dancefloor occupies a former tunnel measuring 35 metres in length, 10 metres in height and six metres across. T2 Produção e Eventos installed a Void Acoustics system there, with Air Motion speakers and Stasys 8 subwoofers in the main room. Freshkitos chose the system for the club. Sonic Culture managed the early programming, and Freshkitos were the resident DJs.

The regular schedule pairs house and drum and bass on Fridays with techno on Saturdays. Bookings have included Jeff Mills and Ben Klock, while event line-ups have featured MOLECULAR and Flava D.
