Glazart is a concert venue and club in Paris’s 19th arrondissement, at Porte de la Villette, away from the city centre. Created in 1996 as a self-managed space between a squat and a concert hall, it began club programming in 1998, when Arnaud Perrine organised four summer techno parties. The venue later asked his team to run monthly nights; Perrine became its director in 2008 and president of its association in 2018. The club occupies a former Eurolines bus station, and its concert hall has a capacity of 700.
Early club programming centred on techno, house and trance, before shifting towards drum and bass during the 2000s. Miss Ficelle was a drum-and-bass resident, while artists to play Glazart include Manu Le Malin, Jennifer Cardini, The Hacker and Elisa Do Brasil. Its wider programme spans electronic music and concerts in metal, rock and hardcore. In 2010, Glazart opened LaPlage, an outdoor area beside the club with a sand-covered dance floor; the open-air programme was relaunched as LaPlage 2.0 in 2015.
