Goldenvoice Bay Area is a California-based event promoter operating in the San Francisco and Oakland area. Goldenvoice entered San Francisco in 2004 through its purchase of the Warfield property. David Lefkowitz oversaw the San Francisco operation in 2008, when the company took over management of the Warfield and booking at the Grand Ballroom at Regency Center.
The Warfield reopened under Goldenvoice in September 2008 after renovations. That year the promoter also took on the Regency Ballroom lease and the Social Hall, and assumed booking duties at the Grand Ballroom. Its Bay Area venues have included the Regency Ballroom, Slim’s and the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco, as well as Oakland festival sites. In 2017, Goldenvoice took control of booking at Slim’s and the Great American Music Hall; the following year it partnered with the venues to book and promote shows.
Its programming has covered house and electronic music, alongside drum and bass bookings including Goldie. Artists on Club Darc bills in San Francisco included Chris Stussy, DJ Tennis and Peggy Gou. The seasonal electronic-music series ran at Shed A at Pier 48. Goldenvoice launched the Blurry Vision festival in Oakland in 2018, and promoted concerts across Bay Area venues from clubs to large festivals in 2019.
