Hit N Run

Hit N Run began in Oxford in 2001, with Rich Reason, Riz Ahmed and Craig Carr among its founders. After Reason moved to Manchester in 2004, he started a Monday night at Po Na Na, and the Manchester event found its footing in October 2006. It grew from a weekly student drum and bass gathering into weekend events and helped connect the artists who later formed the LEVELZ collective.

Its music covers drum and bass, grime, hip-hop and dubstep alongside more experimental bass music, with a focus on new sounds and local MCs and DJs. Manchester events have taken place at venues such as Hidden, Antwerp Mansion and Freight Island. Bookings have included Jamie xx, James Blake, Goldie and David Rodigan, and the promoter has held album-launch parties for Children of Zeus, Black Josh and Abnormal Sleepz.
