If Music is a Soho-based record shop and event promoter in London that also releases albums and hosts parties. The shop marked its 15th year in 2019. Jean-Claude, who previously held residencies at Fabric and Plastic People, has run the You Need This! series, including a 2016 presentation with 4hero’s Marc Mac at Ronnie Scott’s Bar. The night drew on jazz, Latin and Brazilian music, African music, deep house, boogie, funk, hip-hop, reggae and soul.
If Music has held events at The Carpet Shop, including its Left Turn series, which focuses on jungle, drum and bass and related music. Artists booked across its events include DJ Flight, Cleveland Watkiss, DJ Trax and Jean-Claude. You Need This! has also appeared as You Need This! Balance, with Jean-Claude and Ade Fakile. A 2026 Left Turn line-up named DJ Trax, Jean-Claude, DJ Flight and Suburban Architecture.
