ItCameFromTheJungle

ItCameFromTheJungle has promoted drum and bass and jungle events in Cape Town, South Africa, since beginning in 2006. Founded by DJ Niskerone, also known as Mark Stevens, the parties followed his DJ nights with SFR as Dhala Kulture at venues around the city. The event began at Fiction DJ Bar, where it became a weekly Thursday night, after earlier stops at Drum Café and Legacy. Its aim was to provide regular local events, with bookings emphasizing the lighter side of drum and bass. Later venues have included Alley and The Ostrich Farm.

Niskerone and Hyphen have been among the promoter’s regular South African artists, while international guests have included Culture Shock and Noisia. In 2019, Fiction and ItCameFromTheJungle held a final drum-and-bass party at the venue. The promoter is a division of Science Frikshun and is based in Woodstock, Cape Town.
