Karmen Camina

Karmen Camina is a café-bar and event space in Strasbourg, France, where live performances and club nights take place. The venue opened in May 2024 in Krutenau, within the former Manufacture des Tabacs. It uses 500 square metres of the old tobacco factory, including its boiler house and printing works. Tiers-Lab, a cooperative whose members share decision-making, operates the venue.

Concerts, club nights, performances, residencies and workshops form part of its programme, alongside professional and association events. Music ranges across alternative acoustic, electronic, dance and experimental styles, with year-round programming co-produced with collectives and artists from France, the European Union and elsewhere. Event line-ups have included Cardus, GTK, Matty Chiabi and Prozak (IRL). Timeless Rhythms and Wilt are resident DJs. The venue’s Saturday-night electronic series features live sets and DJ performances from local, national and international artists and collectives.

The two club rooms have distinct sound systems: Cym Acoustics created the spatialised setup in the gallery, while the club room uses an analogue Danley Sound Labs system. Vintage Montarbo speakers are installed in the café-bar, which also has a terrace and rooftop.
