KARNAGE PROD

KARNAGE PROD is based in southwest France and grew out of Fraktal Concept, a sound system started there in 1994 by Thanos, Matt and Maniak. DJ Thanos established Karnage Records in Toulouse in 1998. From its label beginnings, the organisation expanded into music production, artist representation and event organising in France and abroad. Karnage Records issues vinyl and digital EPs. Its events have taken place at Le Rex de Toulouse and Le Bikini, with line-ups featuring Mandidextrous, Elisa Do Brasil and Lowbass.

In 2005, KARNAGE PROD launched Koalition, a festival bringing together varied electronic styles, established artists and Toulouse collectives. The festival later ran over two days, with eight stages and more than 80 artists, DJs, VJs and performers. Themed nights such as Fury!, La French and The Lost Island have ranged from acid and hardcore to industrial music. Kosen Production, created in 2011, focuses mainly on drum and bass and neurofunk.

Events in Toulouse marked the organisation’s 20th anniversary in 2018, followed by Day One at Zénith de Toulouse on 9 February 2019. The event attracted nearly 5,000 spectators. In 2019, KARNAGE PROD launched Queens, using releases, programming and artist visibility to improve women’s representation in electronic music.
