Kauz

Zurich-based Kauz operates as both a nightclub and an event promoter at Ausstellungsstrasse 21, between the Sihl River and the city’s main railway station. The venue began operating in 2013. Melanie Lang and Philippe Egger helped shape its early years; at the fifth anniversary, its team included manager Miklos Kündig, booker and technician Luke Redford, and Miguel Castro.

Its programme has covered techno, house, bass, reggaeton, breakbeat and drum and bass. Techno and house events have featured Chris Schwarzwälder and Acid Pauli, while event line-ups have included FD and DRS. Kauz has staged the breakbeat and drum and bass night “future forever,” run the “sommernacht” series with crew love, and held anniversary events titled “XIII Jahre Kauz.” In 2021, it hosted an event for the Distressed Public label.
