KCL DJ Society

KCL DJ Society began at King’s College London in 2012 and is a student-run DJ and producer group based in London. Its membership welcomes people with different levels of experience, and weekly practice sessions take place at Bush House. Open-deck meet-ups, tuition and teaching for newcomers across musical styles are part of its programme, alongside social activities and podcasts. Members perform at regular club showcases, including monthly nights and other showcases held every few months.

The society has staged events at Four Quarters, Cu and M.O.T, and has worked with Wired Radio and Corsica Studios on London events. In 2019, it relaunched its Tuesday event at Corsica Studios as PL.FM, a two-room night with student DJs and local artists. A Platforms event that year attracted around 300 people and raised £524 for Lambeth & Southwark Mind; Platforms events generally donated a fifth of their profits to charity.

KCL DJ Society received the KCLSU Awards for Best New Activity Group in 2013. Its joint event with Wired Radio and Corsica Studios received Event of the Year at the 2025 KCLSU Student Media Awards. The society’s event programme has included music spanning drum and bass, house, garage and techno.
