Krunk

Krunk was established in Mumbai in 2009 by Sohail Arora as an electronic-music booking agency and event promoter. Its first show featured Indian duo Midival Punditz and sold out, with attendance exceeding 1,000. The agency’s early work opened touring routes for Indian artists, and its activities later grew to encompass artist management, events and bookings.

Events promoted by Krunk have taken place at Hauz Khas Social in Delhi, Khar Social in Mumbai, Indiranagar Social in Bangalore and JUNA in Goa. International bookings have included FKJ, Squarepusher, Ivy Lab and Sam Binga. Bass Camp, Dance OK Please, Hotbox and Strictly Bass are recurring event properties. Hotbox operates as a monthly concert tour, presenting international artists working in house, techno, breaks, acid and electro.

Krunk launched Bass Camp Festival in 2010 to foster bass-music culture in India. Initially spanning three cities, the festival was presented in ten cities by 2018. Bass Camp also brought crews from Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore into a shared programme. Krunk curates the ecologically focused Echoes of Earth festival in India and is a curator and partner of Grasslands Festival in Kathmandu, Nepal.

Krunk Kulture began in August 2020 with the 15-track compilation Kaala Khatta—Flavours Of The East. The label issues electronic music by artists from India and Asia, with styles ranging from ambient and electro to techno, drum and bass, and experimental synth music.
