L'Animalerie (Usine)

L'Animalerie (Usine) is a concert promoter and venue operation based at Le Zoo in Geneva, Switzerland. The Zoo occupies an upper floor of the Usine, at Place des Volontaires 4, and has presented electronic music events since 1999. It followed the Débido, a café, brewery and nightlife venue. L’Animalerie/Usine is the non-profit association behind Le Zoo, registered in Geneva in 2014 to organise cultural events and promote artists.

The association is horizontally organised, with around 50 active members running its daily operations. Its remit includes concerts, parties, conventions and workshops, as well as festival participation and coordinating activities in space provided by Usine. The Zoo hosts daytime and night-time events, with a programme centred on electronic music. L'Animalerie (Usine) has also promoted nights spanning psytrance, Goa progressive and chill-out, alongside events featuring bass music, electro, hip-hop and dubstep.

Events have taken place at Zoo in Geneva, with line-ups including Braises de Velours, Skeptical, Kara (UK) and Mefjus. The promoter has also organised a creators’ market at the venue. In November 2025, it presented “Le T-dansant rend hommage à sa momie”, featuring Greta Gratos, David de Bâle and Les Messagères d’Amour. Its work has also included VJing, while the Zoo’s cultural approach seeks to make culture and nightlife accessible to a broad public and support local and alternative scenes.
