Magnetic Soul Events

Magnetic Soul Events is a drum-and-bass promoter based in Hong Kong, China. Formed in spring 2005 by local DJs and drum-and-bass fans, it was founded by David “Cookie” Killingsworth. Its debut event was held at Pebbles on Wyndham Street on 1 June 2005, when Hong Kong had few events in the genre. Magnetic Soul took over from earlier organisers.

The promoter has used Hong Kong venues including AER (Aesthetic Radio), Golden Snake Hole, OMA and Migas. It has also taken events to mainland China, Thailand and Indonesia, and invited DJs and MCs from across the region. Hong Kong bookings have included DJ Fresh, Marcus Intalex, Doc Scott and Fabio. Magnetic Soul’s events centre on drum and bass, while a June 2026 festival pre-party also covered garage.

Its side project, re:locate, has promoted local and Asian drum-and-bass DJs. In April 2026, Magnetic Soul Events co-presented a Hong Kong drum-and-bass night with Sexy Liquid Fridays. In June that year, it co-promoted a festival pre-party in Hong Kong. By August 2009, Magnetic Soul had staged 86 events at 25 Hong Kong venues, including three charity events.
