Microfunk

Microfunk is an event promoter operating in Manchester, with events in the city and Stockport. It has promoted events in the Manchester area since at least 2016. The related Microfunk Music label is based in Stockport and was founded in June 2009. Bop leads the label, whose releases include work by Bop, Nuage, Subwave and Stankontext. Microfunk’s work also uses deep electronic sounds built around clicks and beats.

Microfunk’s events span drum and bass, jungle, dubstep and electronica, including deep and atmospheric styles. Its music predominantly runs at 170 beats per minute. Microfunk has held events at BRUK in Manchester and at BRUK, 8 Little Underbank, in Stockport. Artists at its events have included Bop, Oliver Yorke and Synkro. In 2025, Microfunk marked the project’s tenth anniversary with a series of events at BRUK, featuring a focus on Microfunk and autonomic sounds.
