Midnight Bass

Midnight Bass is a Scotland-based promoter of drum-and-bass and jungle events, working in Edinburgh and Glasgow. Founded in Edinburgh in 2017, it began as a weekly midweek night, with Tuesday events later held at venues including Bongo Club and Cabaret Voltaire. Its founder started the night while working as the Bongo Club’s PR manager, aiming to give local drum-and-bass DJs chances to play. At Bongo Club, the programme also extended to garage, grime, footwork and dubstep.

In Edinburgh, events have taken place at Bongo Club and Cabaret Voltaire, as well as Sneaky Pete’s and the Mash House. In Glasgow, Midnight Bass has used Sub Club and La Cheetah Club. Cabaret Voltaire guests have included Goldie and LTJ Bukem; Gabriella Bongo and Winslow have featured on line-ups. In September 2025, the promoter celebrated its eighth birthday with a Cabaret Voltaire relaunch across two rooms, followed by four special guest parties. Midnight Bass has also released a compilation featuring Scottish producers.
