Overview Music

Overview Music operates as an independent label and event promoter from Brighton and Bristol. Peter Maxted, also known as Energy, and Oliver Dumas, known as sub-antics, founded it in December 2018. Its first events were held through a residency at Volks in Brighton. The promoter has staged events at Lakota in Bristol and venues in Birmingham and Nottingham, and has taken its programme to London, Manchester and Cardiff, including events at E1, Trinity Centre and Studio 338.

Events feature drum and bass and dubstep, with DRS, Waeys, Rockwell and Halogenix among the artists presented. The label’s drum-and-bass releases span minimal, techy, deep and atmospheric sounds. In 2022, Overview Music began a mentorship programme for female-identifying producers, providing production lessons and mental-health support. It marked its 100th release in late 2024 with the two-part remix compilation Overview100.
