The first events took place in a local pub before moving to The Vaults, a 150-capacity room, after it reopened the following year; Perception has also used West Mid Showground and The Buttermarket, which holds 1,500 people, for larger events.
Jay Dubz and Conspire have been residents, alongside local DJs and visiting artists such as Grooverider, Bryan Gee, SpectraSoul and Lenzman. The promoter has also hosted label nights and tours for Metalheadz, Critical Sound and 1985 Music.
