Phonox

Phonox is a nightclub at 418 Brixton Road in London’s Brixton district. It opened in September 2015 inside the former Plan B venue, with Andy Peyton, who directed XOYO and The Nest, among its co-owners. Scottish DJ Jasper James began an open-ended Saturday residency on 12 September that year, and HAAi took over as permanent Saturday resident in 2016.

The club launched with a single sound system and a format centred on one DJ playing throughout the night. Its focus was underground music, with the dance floor intended for experiencing the music rather than taking photographs. Saturday sessions use one dance floor and a Funktion-One system, with DJs playing extended or all-night sets. The monthly “4 Fridays at Phonox” series lets a guest DJ programme a run of dates with selected guests and all-night sets. Past event line-ups have featured Lenzman, MC Fox, T-Man (UK) and Coco Bryce. In 2025, Phonox marked its tenth anniversary with events including appearances by DJ EZ and Call Super.
