PROGRESS

Based in Manchester, PROGRESS has presented events at the Progress Centre, located on Charlton Place in Ardwick. The venue grew from a run of seasonal outdoor parties into a permanent open-air club in 2024. Its electronic programme has occupied Ardwick spaces including Progress and Square One, with a covered dancefloor at the main site. In 2025, the Centre added Square One and Cakebread Street as permanent areas, forming a multi-stage venue with capacity for 5,000. The operation is run by the team behind The Loft, Animal Crossing and the Summer of Love festival.

PROGRESS’s programme covers house, techno and UK electronic music, featuring international artists, local performers and grassroots selectors. Event line-ups have included Baby Face, misschief, SHADEV and SHY FX; other artists connected with PROGRESS include Maceo Plex and Call Super. PROGRESS was also among the promoters of the 2022 Summer of Love Festival in Manchester. The club’s sound system is by Funktion-One, and its equipment also includes a custom lighting rig.
