Raze Sound System

Raze Sound System is a Sheffield-based sound-system collective run by James, Joe, Lucas and Wez. Its origins date to 2019, when James and Lucas founded the project, with Wes involved from the start. The founders had begun making speaker cabinets around 2011, before building a custom system for drum and bass, using a scoop design and 3,200-watt drivers. The crew’s events cover drum and bass and dubstep, with bookings including Napes, Big Ang, Bladerunner and DRS. Before Raze Sound System began, Wes had run Liquid Steel Sessions. The crew tunes its sound by ear instead of relying on preset equalisation.

Raze Sound System has held events at FORGE in Sheffield and powered events at Outlook in Croatia and Boomtown in the UK. In 2023, it provided the sound system for an event in Sheffield. Its annual D&BBQ took place at FORGE in 2025 and 2026.
