Reason & Moss ltd

Reason & Moss ltd is a Manchester event promoter associated with Hit & Run, the bass-music brand founded by Rich Reason. Hit & Run began in Oxford with Rich Reason, Riz Ahmed and Craig Carr, then moved to Manchester when Reason arrived in 2004 to study music. There, he started a weekly student drum-and-bass night at Po Na Na. Reason & Moss ltd, the company Rich Reason runs with Callum Moss, was set up in Manchester in 2018.

Hit & Run initially booked local DJs, later pairing visiting artists with Manchester MCs and DJs. Its events have covered drum and bass, dubstep, jungle and bass music, with bookings including Calibre, LSB, James Blake and Cookie Monsta. Reason & Moss ltd has staged events at Manchester venues including Hidden, The White Hotel, Concept Haus and Six Trees Bar And Kitchen. Hit & Run has used Manchester venues such as The Attic, Thirsty Scholar, Factory and Antwerp Mansion. The promoter has staged events linked to 1985 Music, Critical Sound, Eglo Records and Astrophonica.

Rich Reason also manages Ghosts of Garage, Discopuss and the LEVELZ music collective. Hit & Run shifted from weekly Monday student nights towards weekend events after seven or eight years; it marked its 15th anniversary in 2021 and held a 16th-anniversary event in December 2022. Reason & Moss ltd co-promoted a 1985 Music event at Hidden in March 2023, with drum and bass and dubstep across two floors.
